Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's film War is the biggest blockbuster of 2019. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film saw the actors as Indian Army officers fighting for their nation. The never-seen-before chemistry between the heartthrobs of Bollywood, Hrithik and Tiger, managed to attract the maximum number of cine-goers. The total collection of the film stands at Rs 474.79 crore. War also starred Vaani Kapoor, Anupriya Goenka and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.

Total box office collection: Rs 439 crore
Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor's film is directed by Sujeeth Reddy. Released in four Indian languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, the film shows Prabhas as a secret Intelligence agent. While Saaho received negative reviews from film critics, it was loved by the audiences as is clear by its box office collection. Saaho earned a sum of Rs 439 crore worldwide.
Movie name: KABIR SINGH
Total box office collection: Rs 379.02 crore
A remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh faced its share of controversy. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, Kabir Singh is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who also directed the original film. The film received a lot of flak as critics said that it propagates toxic masculinity and poor treatment of women. Fans, however, showered Shahid's Kabir and Kiara's Priti with love. The film earned a total collection of Rs 379.02 crore at the box office and is the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019.

Actor Janhvi Kapoor instantly agreed to feature in Zoya Akhtar’s short in the horror anthology Ghost Stories for two reasons: to understand how the filmmaker creates her characters and because she finds herself drawn to “slightly tragic characters”. Zoya’s short features the Dhadak star as a home nurse tasked with taking care of an elderly woman, played by veteran actor Surekha Sikri. Janhvi says the project gave her the opportunity to understand the world Zoya creates, which is quite unlike others. “The way Zoya sees her characters and writes them, they are grounded in reality. They are detailed and never one dimensional, she layers them in a way I don’t think many filmmakers have cracked. “I wanted to be a part of this world and get to know how these characters are made.
